About the book

Michael, age 17, drove himself from Oregon to the hellhole of a small Texas town in the summer of 1969. As the Woodstock music festival dominated the nation’s attention, Michael felt he was driving through the gates of paradise, going the wrong way.

Kathleen, age 17, had it all. She made friends easily, dated a star football player and seemed to have a bright future. Everyone thought they knew Kathleen. And everyone was wrong.
